Doug Harbicht (the captain)
Born in Saskatchewan in 1943, and has been an avid outdoors enthusiast
from the age of 6. Doug moved to British Columbia in 1964 and has spent the last
36 years working either as a logger or for the BC Ministry of Forests.
Doug got a taste of ocean fishing in 1970 and has been "hooked"
ever since, even going so far as to take summer holidays in 1982 as a deck hand
on a commercial troller. This was the first (and only) time Doug
"caught" sea sickness, which gave him a certain sensitivity to how his
guests may be feeling in certain rough water conditions.
"My philosophy to being a sports fishing charter operator, is to provide
my guests with the best and most unique fishing/outdoor adventure possible,
while at the same time taking all due precautions relative to their safety and
security."
The best marketing strategy, is to have guests who return to their hometown
with very positive adventure stories to share with their friends.
